QUEENS, NY-Last night, on the heels of a sweeping victory, Councilman Joe Addabbo officially snagged the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Serf Maltese in the general election for State Senate. Greeted by a room of supporters at Carosello in Howard Beach, Addabbo rallied the crowd:

“It’s full steam ahead to November. We’re going to be on every block, in every neighborhood, from Howard Beach to Middle Village, talking to voters and addressing the issues. Serf Maltese is on notice: tonight the residents of the 15th senate district took a stand against absentee legislators and the politics of corruption. We’re going to fight for every square inch of our community to improve our schools, control taxes, maintain homeownership, keep jobs in the city, and make middle class life affordable again. We’ve been wandering in an economic dessert for 40 years while our Long Island neighborhoods languish in state monies and squander our resources. It’s time to end government waste and put New York State back to work for the people.”
